Parkhouse and Chrome Hill

Chrome Hill

Parkhouse and Chrome Hill are amongst some of the most distinct and well-known hills in the Peak District, Upper Dove Valley. Commonly known as the ‘Dragon’s Back’, the rugged curve of Chrome Hill resembling the spine of a stegosaurus. The hard work climbing its steep slope is worth the effort, as the views from the top are spectacular. These prominent hills are part of a limestone reef knoll, coral reefs that formed around 340 million years ago.
